O God, You have taught me from my youth; and to this day I declare Your wondrous works… O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come. Psalm 71:17-18

The 55+ Ministry at Cottage Hill is vitally important to who we are as a church. Our goal is to challenge those that are in the “Second Half” of life to make it their best half. It should be a time of “ReFirement” not retirement! No conversations about rocking on the front porch will be found here! At CHBC, we seek to encourage Senior Adults to find out what God wants them to be doing in their “Second Half” and then help equip them to do it.

Giving our members hands-on mission opportunities is the heart and soul of this ministry. Whether it is through mission trips, carrying meals to those in our area who cannot make a meal for themselves, or spending time with those who are homebound, our 55+ Ministry actively gives a tangible touch of Jesus’ love in our community and beyond. At CHBC, Senior Adults are all about making a difference for God in our world, not only in the second half – but the “Best Half of Life”!

Love to sing? Come join the Joy Singers on Wednesdays! Like to travel? With monthly events planned both in-town and out-of-town, the 55+ Ministry offers a great opportunity for you to grow and fellowship together in the Lord. In addition to mission opportunities, we are to be actively studying God’s Word. At Cottage Hill, we provide Bible study for couples and singles in the 55+ area.

A Message From Brother Ronnie

The Family of Hope Ministers to the Mission of Hope
I don’t know about you but I am ready for spring!! Our snowstorm for 45 minutes scared me to death! I was ready to put the snow chains on the car. Ok! So I am being sarcastic! Wasn’t the snow beautiful while it lasted? I am from North Carolina and we used to make snow cream all the time. Well, to make a long story short I went out and bought (a almost half gallon) of Mayfield’s Snow Cream flavored ice cream and had a party. It still was not as good as momma used to make! Just wasn’t the same.

We had a very busy February with the Friendship Luncheon and Senior Adult Festival. I was so blessed by the many volunteers that we had to help in each event. I rejoice in the almost $2000 we collected for missions with those two events. Praise the Lord!! I would say that I am ready to slow down a little; but there is no time for that.

Join us this month as our 55+ Family of Hope reaches out to the Men’s Mission of Hope. Our Joy Singers will be providing special music and we will be feeding the men and the staff there. Watch for details on how you can be involved in this very special hands-on missions project.

Don’t forget to go with us to our very own Bellingrath Gardens this month as well. We sometimes take for granted what people drive from all over the country to see. Join us as we enjoy all of the beautiful flowers and then have lunch together.

With Much Love!
Brother Ronnie
