KABOOM Kids @ CHBC
“His Word is in my heart like a fire…” Jeremiah 20:9b (NIV)
The mission of the Children’s Ministry at Cottage Hill Baptist Church is simple: Our desire is to equip children to make an impact on their world for Christ. In the book of Jeremiah, we learn that Jeremiah spent his entire life sharing God’s love and redemption with the world around him, but they would not listen. Jeremiah was so discouraged that he decided he would stop, that he wouldn’t speak any more in God’s name. But he found that the more he tried to keep silent, the more God’s Word burned within his heart – he realized he could not be silent, that he HAD to proclaim God’s truth! This is our desire for the kids of CHBC – that they know and proclaim God’s Word, His love, and His truth to the world around them! We want them to know that God’s calling on their life is the highest and best calling that they will ever have. We want them to understand that, no matter how small they are, they CAN influence their world for Jesus! With each activity we offer, we want to empower our kids to be diligent and courageous in sharing God’s love with others.

Life Groups for Kids
Each Sunday morning beginning at 9:00, we provide age level Bible study for kids in 1st through 5th grades upstairs in the Children’s Ministry area. Well-trained teachers lead each class and are dedicated not only to helping children learn Bible truths, but also to helping them realize how they can apply those truths to their everyday lives. Our curriculum for this hour is The Gospel Project for Kids, which moves chronologically through the Bible, looking at the big picture of God’s story and teaching children how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our policy is that any adults who teach minors be background screened before they can serve, so you can feel confident that your child is in a safe and loving environment.
This high-energy, interactive worship service for 1st– 5th graders meets in the Children’s Worship Theater on Sunday mornings at 10:30. With exciting praise and worship, silly skits, fun games, and of course Bible lessons that relate on their level, kids will have a blast learning the truths of God’s Word in an atmosphere designed just for them!
6:00 – Praise Makers
6:30 – AWANA
Praise Makers is a time when 1st -5th graders come together to learn that we can make a joyful noise and praise the Lord with our voices! Praise Makers meets every Wednesday evening from 6:00-6:25 in the Children’s Worship Theater.
Following Praise Makers, AWANA begins at 6:30 in the Children’s Worship Theater. Kids will love learning more about God’s Word, hiding Scripture in their hearts, and earning fun awards in this engaging program. AWANA begins at age 2 and continues through 5th grade. The enrollment fee for AWANA is $25.
KidSteps is a new believer’s class for children who have accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. This class is designed to help boys and girls as they begin to learn what it means to follow Christ and live for Him each day. Classes meet twice a year upstairs in the Preschool/Children’s area.
Two indoor playgrounds are open daily Tuesday–Friday until 4:00 PM. Parents are welcome to bring your children for a time of play. Playground rules are posted in each playground. (subject to availability to accommodate CHCA and the Early Education Center’s schedules.)
