diaper changing procedures...

Gather materials:

• Clean diaper
• Wax paper
• Latex gloves
• Baby wipes
• Plastic changing mat

Procedure Set up:

• Put on gloves.
• Place wax paper on mat or bed.
• Place clean diaper on top of wax paper.
• Place another piece of wax paper over clean diaper.

Changing Procedure:

• Lay child on top of wax paper and clean diaper.
• Unfasten soiled diaper.
• Wipe the child with wipes from front to back area.
• Put soiled wipes into soiled diaper.
• Roll soiled wipe, soiled diaper, wax paper into a ball.
• Fasten clean diaper on the child.

Disposal of Soiled Diaper:

• Hold soiled diaper package in one gloved hand.
• Using the other hand, remove the glove from the wrist and covering the soiled diaper.
• Repeat the process - both gloves seal the diaper.
• Place soiled diaper material in diaper pail or trash can.
