day captain's responsibilities

  • Be an encourager to the 24 Watchmen on your Wall/Day
  • Contact & encourage members to sign up for the Watchman Prayer Ministry. Sign up church members on your day according to the procedures. Ensure each new watchman gets a "new members packet". Ensure that each watchman on your day knows who will contact him before their hour and whom they will call to pass the watch.
  • Contact goal:  Contact each member on yourday once a month- contacts should vary-phone calls, cards, other

Reason for contacts:

  • Ensure watchmen are making calls to pass the watch-make sure they are receiving calls from watchman on the watch before them
  • If problems on members not making/receiving call, call member finding out why calls are not being made/are not being received.
    • If time slot is the problem-find a better time and switch watchman or they will have to drop off the wall
    • If a problem then have Wall Captain or Coordinator get involved
  • We must ensure that Watchmen are keeping their commitment- God will only bless us if we have been found faithful
  • Attend all Watchman Leadership meetings unless otherwise committed.
  • To help at the Watchman Table as needed by the Table Coordinator
  • To have a servant's heart-show Christ's love in all situations.
